Like the Grosvenor Quartet Quartano was the result of a collaboration between friends and colleagues in the LPO. It was our intention that we should also form a group to focus on the event entertainment market, but that we should try to provide something different. The addition of soprano voice to the string quartet not only opens up the range of repertoire available to us, but also adds a fantastic vibrancy and beauty to the overall effect.

Arrangement was obviously necessary but we now have a repertoire covering everything from the great opera arias of Mozart and Puccini; Richard Strauss and Schubert songs; light operetta arias of G&S and Lehar; to jazz standards by Gershwin and Cole Porter.
