The Grosvenor Quartet was formed in 2010 after a series of conversations with friends and colleagues in the LPO. We soon realised that we all wanted to include more chamber music in our lives and that we should do something about it. We started by meeting up to play for fun but soon realised that we not only got on together as friends but that we also played well together. The result was the Grosvenor Quartet, we gave our first public performance in the Art in Action festival in Waterperry Park in the summer of 2011, we were invited back the following year. We have also performed in a concert at St. Martin-in-the-fields, in a programme of music including Emma Kirkby and Jakob Lindberg, and the Choir of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, which was a live broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

Our aim is to gradually establish ourselves as a serious string quartet performing the classic quartet repertoire to the highest standard.
